The Carolina Women’s Center pursues gender equity at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Through education, advocacy, and interdisciplinary research, we build bridges and enhance the intellectual life and public engagement mission of the university.
The Carolina Women's Center was established in 1997 as the culmination of the effort of women at Carolina over several generations to increase the status of women and provide an infrastructure to represent women's needs on issues such as women's health, campus safety, child care, professional development, pay equity, and the climate for women on campus. The CWC serves all members of the Carolina community -- faculty, students, postdocs, staff, and alumni, regardless of sex or gender.
