Closing Gender Gaps

Achieving gender equity requires attention to campus climate issues. We seek to make Carolina a safe and inclusive place.

We do this by working to

  • Address issues of underrepresentation, equity, and parity.

Working with groups like the Faculty Council Committee on the Status of Women and the Association of Women Faculty and Professionals on issues of gender parity for faculty.

Advocating for robust training for search committee members on how unconscious bias impacts decision-making.

Convening the Committee on Gender Equity, a coalition of students, staff, and faculty members working to improve policies and processes that impact equity at UNC.

Offering gender equity and feminist programming on campus for students, faculty, and staff.

  • Build an inclusive and welcoming climate.

Providing resources, referrals, and training about sexual harassment for faculty members, graduate students, undergraduate students, and student groups.

Serving on the Harassment Advisory Committee for the Equal Opportunity and Compliance Office.

Serving on the advisory board for the Women Experiencing Learning & Leadership living-learning community.
