Closing Gender Gaps

Achieving gender equity requires attention to campus climate issues. We’re working to make Carolina a safe and inclusive place by working to:

Address issues of underrepresentation, equity and parity

  • Working with groups like the Faculty Council Committee on the Status of Women and the Association of Women Faculty and Professionals on issues of gender parity for faculty.
  • Advocating for robust training for search committee members on how unconscious bias impacts decision-making.
  • Convening the Committee on Gender Equity, a coalition of students, staff, and faculty members working to improve policies and processes that impact equity at UNC.
  • Offering gender equity and feminist programming on campus for students, factually, and staff.

Build an inclusive and welcoming climate
