Olivia Bass is the MSW intern at the Carolina Women’s Center. She works with pregnant and parenting students to help them find resources and services on campus. She facilitates a support group and is working on creating events for student parents.
She is also the Program Assistant for Health Equity at UNC Student Wellness. She is the graduate advisor for two organizations: D.I.C.E (Diversity and Inclusiveness in Collegiate Environments) and Sister Talk, a support group for women of color.
She is currently enrolled in the Master of Social Work program at UNC Chapel Hill, and is a proud double Tar Heel, getting her B.A. in Psychology in 2014. She is hoping to become a Program Director of a nonprofit organization in the near future, and she wants to research interpersonal violence from a woman of color’s perspective so that she can provide resources and services catered to their needs.
She is a strong advocate for self-care and understands the importance of individuals taking care of themselves in order for their personal wellness and satisfaction to increase.
